Solar Powered Irrigation System
Our goal is to promote sustainable agriculture by using renewable energy to supply water in Pakistan's farming sector.
In Pakistan, agriculture faces a big challenge with how we use groundwater for irrigation. Every year, we rely on 65 cubic kilometers of groundwater to grow our crops, which is essential for our farms and food security.
Converting electricity-operated tube wells to solar-powered ones can help save at least Rs100 billion as well as 4,000 MWs of electricity annually, significantly alleviating financial burdens and environmental impacts.
To tackle this issue, Pakistan is moving towards using Solar Powered Irrigation Systems (SPIS) as a better way to water our crops. Target Agro is leading this effort by providing high-tech solar solutions. These systems help us use less fossil fuels and manage our water better when growing crops.
